CRAFTED FESTIVAL CRACKS OPEN ITS TENTH YEAR WITH LIMITED-EDITION TOM TATE TINNIE

Celebrating ten years on the Gold Coast deserves more than just a cake, so Crafted Festival has gone one better and created the limited-edition Tom Tate Tinnie.

A Surf Lager by name and nature, the Tom Tate Tinnie marks a decade of Crafted Festival bringing together craft beer, live music, food and community on the Gold Coast. It is a playful nod to Tom Tate, whose larger-than-life presence has become part of the city’s identity, while celebrating the laid-back spirit and sense of humour the Gold Coast does best.

This year’s Crafted Festival will be stacked with breweries, food vendors and live music, with NSW South Coast rock ’n’ rollers The Vanns headlining alongside Gold Coast up-and-comers Selve, Phil and The Blanks, SPACE&AGES and Laurel Hill.

There will also be plenty happening between drinks, with Line Dancing, Beer Yoga and a Ping Pong Competition giving festivalgoers the chance to stretch, strut or get weirdly competitive.

Add in a food extravaganza, live BBQ cooking demos at Crafted Smokeshow and hot wing eating  competitions, and the tenth-year celebrations are shaping up to be equal parts delicious and chaotic.

Crafted Festival co-founder Anna Cook said Crafted’s tenth edition was shaping up to be the best yet.

“Crafted has always been about bringing people together for great beer, great music and a genuinely good time, and this year we are turning that up in every possible way.”

With the Gold Coast established as its spiritual home and Newcastle now part of the Crafted family, the festival will make its Melbourne debut in 2026, opening an exciting new chapter for the event.

“To now be taking Crafted back to Newcastle and launching in Melbourne for the first time makes this year feel even bigger,” Cook said.

Tom Tate said the limited-edition can was a fun way to mark a major milestone for a festival that has become a mainstay on the Gold Coast’s events calendar.

“I’ve always said the Gold Coast is the place to have a crack. In this case, beer lovers can crack open a Tom Tate Tinnie.

“Like me, it’s original, has some character, is refreshing and a conversation starter.

“Have a few Tom Tate Tinnies and you may even end up speaking a bit of Tom Tate lingo which is a bonus as I’m looking for some new one-liners to add to my vocabulary as the year rolls out.

“Congratulations to Burleigh Brewing, Crafted and Code Four on the 10th annual Crafted Festival. The best part of the TT Tinnie, with every sip, a donation goes to E Suarve. Make mine a slab.’’

Finding the perfect partner to bring the Tom Tate Tinnie to life was easy, with Burleigh Brewing long regarded as a cornerstone of the Gold Coast beer industry with a proud history of celebrating local stories and local people.

"If the Gold Coast is being shouted a beer, it better be a good one, and that's a standard we take seriously. We're proud to bring Burleigh quality to this can and to be part of celebrating ten years of a festival that's been as good for this city as the beer we put in it." Burleigh Brewing Co CEO and Co-Founder Peta Fielding said.
